Ameren Illinois Electric Rates Drop

The rates you pay for electricity through Ameren Illinois is dropping. The utility’s new electric supply rates for those customers who get their power from Ameren Illinois and not a third party will be 5.038/kWh. For residential customers, that is 18.3% lower than this time last year.

Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan is pressing the state’s major electric utilities, including Commonwealth Edison, to prominently display on the bills of customers getting their electricity from unregulated suppliers what they would have paid in dollars and cents if they were getting the juice from utilities.
