I received a call from an automated call claiming to be from Oncor and our office electricity was going to be cut off in 30 minutes and to call 800-341-3927 to make arrangements to pay. This sounded a little fishy, but not willing to risk the office not having power, I called and was told by a supposed supervisor named Steven Rickards at ext 7015. He told me i would have to go purchase a GoBank card in the amount of 395.13 with either cash or a debit card and call him back within the hour with the GoBank card number and he would then be able to stop the service termination order. We got in touch with Ashley and she assured me that this was a scam call. She told me that our account was in fact in good standing and we were not in any way in jeopardy of not having power disconnected. She was so reassuring and professional. After speaking with her I was no longer fearful that we would be in the dark. The supposed Oncor rep called me back to see what the status of payment was, and I told them we had spoken with our provider and told them they were trying to scam us, and they immediately hung up. I am so grateful for Ashley’s intervention in this, She was terriffic! Thank you so much Ashley, you saved our day!
